Choose a niche keyword that people are looking for; even though you think that you may have a great keyword it is important to ensure people are looking for. Nothing is worse than trying to rank a site that people are not even searching for.
Always use the keyword in the domain; for instance lets say that you want to get into the puppy training niche. You will do your research on puppy training and if you find that the keyword puppy biting gets a lot of searches you will want to ensure that the words “puppy biting” are in your domain name.
Keyword Extension
When it comes to choosing which keyword extension to use; one of the most common one’s is .com. However if that is not available do not be afraid to register a .net or .org. Personally I would stay away from the .info’s; many people will tell you that it does not matter however I personally have not had a lot of success on the .info’s.
Many people who are new to internet marketing do not realize that a big portion of SEO marketing all begins with choosing the right domain. Remember that having your keyword in your domain will give you an edge over another site that does not have the keyword in it.
Getting high rankings on the internet when you are building a website is vital; especially if you do not want to put in a lot of work and see very little return on your efforts. As far as which platform that you use to build your websites; I personally love using WordPress because there are a ton of free and paid plugins that can help you rank your site.
